- WOULD
1 กริยาช่องที่ 2 ของ will
would, เป็นกริยา past form ของ will, ทำหน้าที่เป็นกริยาช่วย ดังนั้นคำถามและคำตอบ ไม่ต้องใช้ do มาช่วยอีก หลัง would ต้องใช้กริยาช่อง 1 เสมอ
• Would your daughter like to play with my little girl?

• I'd like some advice, please.

2 ระหว่าง would กับ will
would ใช้เหมือน will, ในแง่ที่เป็น past ของ will ใน indirect speech, และใช้เป็นรูปสุภาพของ will

• Direct speech: Tomorrow will be fine.

• Sometimes he would bring me little presents without saying why.
• On Sundays when I was a child we would all get up early and go fishing.

• When we were children we would/used to go skating every winter.
• I used to have an old Rolls-Royce. (ไม่ใช่ I would have an old Rolls Royce.)
